CUSTOMER IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
In accordance with Section 326 of the USA PATRIOT ACT, signed into law on October 26, 2001, Woodlands Bank is required to obtain and maintain on file, a copy of the documents used in identifying all existing customers, as well as new customers and any individuals added as a signatory to an existing account(s). For the purposes of the regulation, an “account” includes any formal banking relationship which entails services, dealings or transactions between Woodlands Bank and an individual and/or business entity. In order to comply with the USA PATRIOT ACT, effective October 25, 2002, Woodlands Bank will require identification documents (such as a photo driver’s license or passport) and tax ID# from all new customers to the bank. Woodlands Bank reserves the right to refuse to open a new account until the customer provides a tax ID#. I now case, will an account without a tax ID# be allowed to remain open longer than 30 days. In addition, identification documents will be requested from existing customers when Woodlands Bank believes that it is unable to verify the true identity of the existing customer, or when an existing customer established a new account relationship for which appropriate documentation was not previously obtained an is not currently on file. In some situations, non-documentary methods may be used for identification purposes.
Woodlands Bank will maintain customer information in a manner which will ensure confidentiality and protect our customer’s identity.
